In the village of Grasmere stands Dove Cottage, the home of William Wordsworth during what is said to be his most productive years as a poet (1799 to 1808). As during the time of Wordsworth's residence, the gardens continue to flourish. Furniture and collector's items of the poet are on display in the dwelling.
